What Enables Classic Photograph Frames Nicer For Your Older Pictures
We have mass production to thank for making the products we need available to use when we need them and generally where we need them. Mass production also makes many of those same products affordable. But mass production simply cannot match the quality you get when you buy things that are handmade. And quality is one reason antiques are getting more popular.
You'll find antiques just look better, and certainly antique picture frames are like this. You can show off those old photos or pieces of art in any frame, but use an antique frame and you will immediately notice a difference far and above any mass produced frame. You'll be drawing attention to them, and just making them look more impressive.
If you have a photo in a store bought frame it probably looks pretty nice, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with that. But move that picture to an antique frame and it will take on a whole new aura. It's not something that is easily explained, but it is easily noticed.
Let's imagine this scenario. You have a great picture of your great grandmother displayed on a living room end table. It's a great photo of a great lady, maybe the only one you have. Now imagine that you're displaying the picture in a frame that she once owned. Now that picture seemingly has more meaning.
Maybe that's an ideal scenario, but you don't have a frame that your grandparents owned. Well you can still get the same feel. Display that picture in a frame that was made around the time that the picture was. Now the photo and frame will seemingly become one, like they were made for each other. Your family and guests will comment as they eyes are seemingly drawn to it. You now have something more than just a border around that photo.
Now let's talk for a second about quality. Sure there are frames made today that are handmade and of tremendous quality. I'm hardly one of those people who think everything "back in the day" was made better. But with antique frames you know you are getting something made with pride and quality.
Everything was handcrafted then. And a true artist could provide spectacular detailing. Look closely and you'll see it. Like we said, there are still frame makers today that can provide great quality, but as we mentioned, quality is not the only reason to go with an antique. It's just one of many.
But as with everything else, there's a catch. And in this case, the catch is generally the price. Some people think they probably can't afford a true antique. And the fact is, that these frames can be quite costly. More than once I've gone into an antique store and almost fainted when I turned over the price tag. And that hold true whether you are looking at a wood frame, or one made of silver or gold.
But before you break out the credit card and go into debt, realize that there are other options. You absolutely need to shop around, both at home and online. With a little persistence, you'll be able to get the frame you want at a price that's more to your liking. And your budget.
And when you do, buy it and put that cherished photo or artwork inside it and proudly display it. You'll notice a difference right away. Your guests and family members will notice the difference as well.

Turner wall accessory- musket with powder horn antique vintage?
My husband was given a large framed musket with powder horn from his grandma, but he doesn't know anything about it or when she got it. It still has a blue and white sticker on the back stating "This is a Turner Wall Accessory" looks pretty vintage. I would like to know any information about Turner Mfg. Co., when this product was made, if the musket was real, what year it was made, if it's worth anything etc. thanks!
Sorry, I don't think it is a gun, it is a wall accessory. The gun is made of plastic or pot metal, it isn't real and doesn't shoot. Turner is still around and they make all sorts of things to hang on the wall.
