how to keep paint from chipping off around self installed hood ornament?
ok, so i have an old beater of a car and thought itd be funny to install a custom hood ornament. well, the install went easy enough, but now the paint is starting to chip from where i had to drill the screw holes. How can i prevent it from getting any worse? now keep in mind im not too concerned about looks here, but id like to keep my paint if at all possible....

You might try a little silicone around the holes you drilled. Did you put a plastic or rubber gasket under the ornament to stop the ornament biting into the paint work? That will help as well. Hope you sort it out for yourself.
