How can I loosen up my knife?

I bought a butterfly knife a while back, but now I'm having problems using it. The hinges are somewhat stiff and the blade doesn't move freely. Any suggestions on what to use to remedy that? I'm think oil.

P.S: I've already used alan wrenches to loosen the bolts but flipping the blade just tightens it up again.

Think before you act!

A lubricant is fine, but be careful what lubricant you use!

I would use something in the way of a cooking oil, like wesson oil or an olive oil. It does the same things as many lubricants. Why a cooking oil? Every once in awhile I see sportsmen taking their knives out to use to cut a piece of sausage or jerky or other piece of food. A very very very bad idea if you used a petroleum-based lubricant. I've known a handful of gunsmiths that died terrible deaths from leukemia. They each told me before they passed away that they thought it had something to do with the chemicals that they were using in their shops.

Stay away from petroleum-based lubricants on your cutlery!
