Mulberry Paper Flower Holiday Centerpieces and Cards

A mulberry flower is a beautiful flower made from paper that is handmade from the bark of the mulberry tree. Men and women in South Africa spend days making this paper by hand.

The completed piece of mulberry paper is a piece of work all its own and the flowers that can be made with the paper are absolutely gorgeous! Mulberry paper is easy to work with and still allows the crafter to create not only paper flowers but any paper craft they choose.

Many people believe that because of the amount of time, effort and the mere fact that mulberry paper is made by hand that it is too expensive, that is incorrect. For the quality of a sheet of mulberry paper it is very affordable.

Let us look at some paper flower centerpieces you can make with mulberry paper.

A traditional holiday centerpiece can have any type of flower(s) you want in it.  You can also choose the colors of your flowers. Although if you have a specific color in the room you are going to decorate with the centerpiece it is sometimes smart to use a variety of shades of the main color. Some colors do not go very well together. So we recommend that you hold the pieces of mulberry paper next to one another and make sure you like the looks of the two or more colors together. Of course white with any color always works well.

A Christmas centerpiece can be made to add a festive touch to your home for any holiday, in addition to saving you money because there is no need to replace the centerpieces each year. If you like poinsettias and spend a lot of money on the plants every Christmas, you would be much better off to make poinsettias out of mulberry paper. Once Christmas has gone and it’s time to get rid of the flowers you can store them until next Christmas.

You can also make Christmas cards using mulberry paper. To make a mulberry paper Christmas card you will need cardstock, old Christmas cards with pictures on them, green and red glitter. To assemble the card use your ruler to measure the cardstock to the size you want, you can have a single card or a double card (one that folds in half.)

Cover the cardstock in mulberry paper using the clear drying glue to attach it. If you want to write a personal message be sure to leave a small section of the card blank. Then cut out the design from an old Christmas card and glue it to the front of the paper covered card stock. You can add a little glitter or a small bow if you like to give it a more festive look.

chlorine water from pool got into the gardens and the fruitless mulberry tree loosing leaves, will it die?

My husband was filling our 15,000 gallon pool and forgot about it, he had added a gallon of chlorine to the pool a few days before, now the fruitless mulberry tree has lost a blanket of green leaves on the lawn and a few of the plants in the gardens have died. The leaves are now turning yellow and are falling as if it is fall, will the tree die or does it believe the season's have changed? The same tree out front has not displayed any of these behaviors.

There is poor information about liquid chlorine damaging nature, nobody is able to estimate the concentration in the soil, it belongs to amount and chlorine concentration of contaminant and water content in soil. If you just watered the tree, chlorine will be more diluted and less dangerous.

It is known that trees exposed to chlorine gas vary in their reactions from no visible symptoms to death, so you only can hope, your tree bobs up after a while. To cut the damage it`s too late now.
