Renting a Van to Help You Move Home

It's just a plain fact that moving is no fun at all. Not only is it a lot of work, but it really is an unsettling feeling of sorts to in a sense as temporary as it is, to be without a furnished home. Also you may have found out already that even if you have minimal possessions, it sure seems like you have a lot when it comes time to move them.

 

Now if you're like most normal people, one of the top priorities on your agenda is to not have anything damaged during the moving process. The goal is to have everything transferred with not so much as one single chip or dent being made in anything. Sound at all familiar?

 

Well the fact is that while it is a great concept, the truth is that without exception you aren't going to escape the moving process without at least some small nick, or dent. It's been tried and even under the best of circumstances it's a near impossibility and this particularly holds true if you have heavy furniture.

 

Now by renting a moving van you can cut your risk of damage down to a minimum, versus, say using an open pick-up truck, or perhaps yours or a friend's passenger van. The reason being is that you simply have more room and the more room that you have, the lower the level of contact between pieces.

 

Know right now that moving with small vehicles like compact trucks, passenger vans, and trailers is always something that anyone who does it regrets. One of those things that you do but once in your life and vow to never do again.

 

For one thing if you think you can do it all in one trip without a moving van, the odds are very good that you're being overly optimistic. Also be aware that the property in the first run has to be unloaded and carried into your home or apartment before you can make a second, and possibly even a third trip.

 

By renting vans you're assured that you can get your entire moving project done in one load, so not only will your work day be shorter it will also be far more enjoyable. You see, furniture moving is unpleasant enough as it is, without you making it even worse by trying to save a little money.

 

Then if you're making a move that takes you over night, you have security to think about. Particularly if you'll be stopping to spend the night along the way. With a van you can lock everything up tight, and secure. Out of the way of prying eyes, sticky hands and bad weather that can cause real damage.

 

Lastly, the nice thing about renting a van when you're moving is that the place where you rent it from will have all the extras that you'll need for your job. Moving blankets to pad up your furniture so it won't get damaged and dollies that you will need to move heavier items like your refrigerator and washing machine.
