Leap back in time while visiting a Varadero classic
Varadero, Cuba's most famous beach town boasts more than 50 all-inclusive resorts. Picking the one that best suites your taste and budget can take some time. William Liebow, a U.S. citizen of Jewish decent is considered to be the inspiration behind the Varadero Internacional. This Varadero landmark hotel, which opened in 1950, features an architectural design characteristic of the time. When you enter the hotel lobby you can't miss the large mural by the famous Cuban artist Rene Portocarrero. In addition the hotel features an art gallery that exhibits and sells works of Cuban painters and sculptures. The Cuban 4-star Varadero Internacional Hotel features 163 rooms, including two suites and a complex of comfortable cabanas, known as Cabanas del Sol, with 149 rooms. What sets this resort apart from the rest (including much more expensive ones) is that the beach starts almost as soon as you step out of the back of the hotel.
