Visit Montgomery's birthplace in New London or the family homes of MacNeill in Cavendish or Silver Bush in Park Corner. The Green Gables farm, belonging to the author's relatives, is a National Historic Site located in the PEI National Park. Join a Parks Canada guide for an interpretive tour of this wonderful place and even visit the gravesite of L.M. Montgomery.

2. White Sands

Pack up a picnic and a beach towel and dig your toes in the white sandy beaches. Cavendish Beach is famous for its miles of white sand, red soil cliffs, and sand dunes. The waters are 15-20 degrees Celsius (59 to 68 degrees Farenheit) and are perfect for swimming and wading.

In addition, the Prince Edward Island National Park of Canada has beautiful beaches and barrier islands - perfect for exploring by kayak or canoe. Tourists can see the endangered Piping Plover bird. A visit to Green Gables and Dalvay-by-the-Sea is a must. Stanhope Beach is another picture-perfect white sandy paradise. Sandspit Amusement Park – (902) 963-2626

With over 18 rides, this amusement park has a roller coaster, go-karts, and mini golf. Take a ride on the tilt-a-whirl or reach heights slowly on the ferris wheel. Sandspit operates from mid-June until September.

Burlington Amusement Park – (902)836-3098

Speed around the go-kart track, play bumper cars (or bumper boats), take a swing at the batting cages, or try a round of mini golf. A snack bar, pool table, and games area are extra attractions.

5. Stanley Bridge Marine Aquarium, Manor of Birds and Gift Shop – (902) 886-3355

This fascinating attraction includes live fish aquariums with touch tanks, North America's largest collection of mounted birds, and a World of Butterflies display. This unique spot also explores the history of Malpeque oysters, Irish moss, and the shellfish industries. Everyone loves the on-site souvenir shop.

6. Inn at the Pier (Parasailing, Kiteboarding, Kayaking & Seadooing) – (902) 886-3126

Spend some time out on the water. Explore the shores by kayak or race around on a sea-doo. If you are feeling extra adventurous, there is nothing more fun than kiteboarding and parasailing. Parasailing rentals start at $65. Kayak rentals start at $12 and sea-doo rentals start at $75.

Check out some curiosities of the world such a Jurassic sized Stegosaurus skeleton and a 20 ft. section of the Berlin Wall. With another 200 exhibits in 12 galleries, there is lots to see at this museum. Visitors can challenge the climbing wall or take in a round of mini-golf.

Visit your favorite celebrities at this life-size wax sculpture attraction. The life-like figures include Anne of Green Gables, Michael Jordan, Dorothy and the characters of Oz, and many more.
