Customized hats: its evolution in fashion
Creating a fashion statement among the youth has became popular nowadays. If you have a keen eye looking for "what's new" in malls, retail stores and boutiques, you will see a wide variety of accessories which are trendily used to spice-up plain apparels.
Caps and hats are one of those creatively modified garments to go with the flow of style. If in the past they are just used as simple headgears, now they are material of art of fashion. Beanie, beret, cloche, and cowboy hats are some of the popular types which are commonly used. Our love for fashionable hats is inherent to us; since the early age people were innovative enough to create an add-on for their outfits.
In the early 1700, the haberdashers form Milan, Italy known as the 'milliners' brought the hats designed for the women in Great Britain. These hats were considered head dresses inspired from the straw hats of men. Then on, French and British mistresses began to include their own Customized Hats in their threadwork where they place intricately designed embroideries adorned with colored feathers and precious jewels.
Hats also became a status symbol of power and integrity. At the end of the Victorian Era of England, King Edward VII inherited the crown following the Edwardian Era known for fashion and social mobility. Ladies during the time were suckers for ornamented hats they show off during royal balls and formal celebrations. The gentlemen also would not like to be left behind, they wore their best top hats which appears to be cylindrical and flat. Nobody in England would not wear a hat except for beggars too poor to afford one.
The use of hats as a social symbol gradually declined after the Second World War where the rampant usage came from the military in uniform. Hats evolved in designs for practical and home use—caps, berets, cloches of the 1920s, fedora hats and many others became ordinary headgears worn for protection in the weather.
Today, hats have been modernized. Embroideries, feathers, and ribbons are exchanged with printed, graffiti and personalized styles. Customized Hats became popular as the trend changes from time to time. Examples of Customized Hats of today are those commonly worn by our favorite sports icons when they are on an interview on the television or simply attending on a press conference. Tagged with their team name or their endorsed brand, these Customized Hats can be worn anywhere in any daily activity.
No matter how hats changed from the past until the present, we can still use them the way we want them to be. Personalizing your style and fashion can always depend on how you wear it.
